Gospel Mark 3:31-35 Who are my mother and my brothers? Those that do the will of God The mother and brothers of Jesus arrived and, standing outside, sent in a message asking for him. A crowd was sitting round him at the time the message was passed to him, ‘Your mother and brothers and sisters are outside asking for you.’ He replied, ‘Who are my mother and my brothers?’ And looking round at those sitting in a circle about him, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother.’ Reflection Was Christ being disrespectful when he asked who is my mother and my brothers. The answer is no. What he is  trying to say is God must come first. Everyone who put God first are brothers and sisters. Does God come first in your life ? Gospel John 1:19-28 'One is coming after me who existed before me' This is how John appeared as a witness. When the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, ‘Who are you?’ he not only declared, but he declared quite openly, ‘I am not the Christ.’ ‘Well then,’ they asked ‘are you Elijah?’ ‘I am not’ he said. ‘Are you the Prophet?’ He answered, ‘No.’ So they said to him, ‘Who are you? We must take back an answer to those who sent us.
