Gospel Luke 13:18-21 The kingdom of God is like the yeast that leavened three measures of flour Jesus said, ‘What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it with? It is like the yeast a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour till it was leavened all through.’ Reflection What can mustard seeds and leaven teach us about the kingdom of God? The tiny mustard seed literally grew to be a tree which attracted numerous birds because they loved the little black mustard seed it produced. God's kingdom works in a similar fashion. It starts from the smallest beginnings in the hearts of men and women who are receptive to God's word. And it works unseen and causes a transformation from within.By doing our part we can help the kingdom of God to grow

Gospel Luke 6:12-16 Jesus chooses his twelve apostles Jesus went out into the hills to pray; and he spent the whole night in prayer to God. Gospel Luke 11:37-41 Give thanks for what you have and it will all be clean Jesus had just finished speaking when a Pharisee invited him to dine at his house. He went in and sat down at the table. The Pharisee saw this and was surprised that he had not first washed before the meal. But the Lord said to him, ‘Oh, you Pharisees! Gospel Luke 17:11-19 No-one has come back to praise God, only this foreigner On the way to Jerusalem Jesus travelled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered one of the villages, ten lepers came to meet him. They stood some way off and called to him, ‘Jesus! Master! Take pity on us.’ When he saw them he said, ‘Go and show yourselves to the priests.’ Now as they were going away they were cleansed. Gospel Luke 11:27-28 'Happy the womb that bore you and the breasts you sucked!' As Jesus was speaking, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said, ‘Happy the womb that bore you and the breasts you sucked!’ But he replied, ‘Still happier those who hear the word of God and keep it!’ Reflection Blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it. What is the word of God? To some the word of God is a way of life. To some it is a road map to where we are going. What is more important is the two steps recommended by Jesus. Firstly to read or listen to the word of God. Secondly to put it into practice. Do we read and listen to the word as part of our life? Let us pray Lord Jesus in our daily lives we are met with challenges and obstacles. One of the way you give your answer is through readings in the bible. Gospel Luke 10:38-42 Martha works; Mary listens Jesus came to a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. She had a sister called Mary, who sat down at the Lord’s feet and listened to him speaking. Martha loved to serve, but in her anxious manner of waiting on Jesus, she caused unrest. Mary, in her simple and trusting manner, waited on Jesus by sitting attentively at his feet.
