Hear the word of God

Gospel
Luke 11:27-28
'Happy the womb that bore you and the breasts you sucked!'

As Jesus was speaking, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said, ‘Happy the womb that bore you and the breasts you sucked!’ But he replied, ‘Still happier those who hear the word of God and keep it!’

Reflection
Blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it. What is the word of God? To some the word of God is a way of life. To some it is a road map to where we are going. What is more important is the two steps recommended by Jesus. Firstly to read or listen to the word of God. Secondly to put it into practice. Do we read and listen to the word as part of our life?

Let us pray
Lord Jesus in our daily lives we are met with challenges and obstacles. One of the way you give your answer is through readings in the bible. Help us oh lord to make reading the word of God and observe it as a way of life.

God honour the faithful servant

Gospel Luke 17:7-10 You are merely servants Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Which of you, with a servant ploughing or minding sheep, would say to him when he returned from the fields, “Come and have your meal immediately”? Would he not be more likely to say, “Get my supper laid; make yourself tidy and wait on me while I eat and drink. You can eat and drink yourself afterwards”? Must he be grateful to the servant for doing what he was told? So with you: when you have done all you have been told to do, say, “We are merely servants: we have done no more than our duty.”’ Reflection God honors the faithful servant who loves and serves others generously. He is ever ready to work in and through us for his glory. We must remember, however, that God can never be indebted to us. We have no claim on him. His love compels us to give him our best! The Way The Truth and the Life

Gospel John 14:6-14 To have seen me is to have seen the father Jesus said to Thomas: ‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you know me, you know my Father too.
