John 16:12-15

The Spirit of truth will lead you to the complete truth

Jesus said to his disciples:

‘I still have many things to say to you

but they would be too much for you now.

But when the Spirit of truth comes

he will lead you to the complete truth,

since he will not be speaking as from himself

but will say only what he has learnt;

and he will tell you of the things to come.

He will glorify me,

since all he tells you

will be taken from what is mine.

Everything the Father has is mine;

that is why I said:

All he tells you

will be taken from what is mine.’

Short Reflection

Jesus understands that we are not ready to grasp everything at once. Instead, He promises the Spirit of Truth who gently guides us step by step into deeper understanding. Faith is not about knowing everything now, but trusting that God continues to reveal His truth to us in His time.

Question for Reflection

Am I open and attentive to the Spirit guiding me toward truth, even when I do not fully understand?

Short Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit, lead me into Your truth.

Help me to trust, to listen, and to follow Your guidance each day. Amen.
