Luke 9:57-62
I will follow you wherever you go.

As Jesus and his disciples were proceeding on their journey, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus answered him, “Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest his head.” And to another he said, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.” But he answered him, “Let the dead bury their dead. But you, go and proclaim the Kingdom of God.” And another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say farewell to my family at home.” Jesus answered him, “No one who sets a hand to the plow and looks to what was left behind is fit for the Kingdom of God.”

Reflection
In this Gospel Jesus shared with us when we choose to be his disciples he gave us 3 lessson. 1. Life on earth will be full of uncertainties. Our faith will face all kinds of challenges. 2.let the dead bury the dead. Do not dwell in the past. 3. There is no turning back when we have decided to follow Christ. Are we prepared for this lesson?

Let us pray
Lord Jesus thank you for the lesson shown to us. Grant we pray continue to give us strength through the power of the holy spirit to continue to be aware of the lesson you thought us. Only that way will we stay alert.

God honour the faithful servant

Gospel John 5:17-30 The dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and all who hear it will live Jesus said to the Jews, ‘My Father goes on working, and so do I.’ But that only made them even more intent on killing him, because, not content with breaking the sabbath, he spoke of God as his own Father, and so made himself God’s equal. To this accusation Jesus replied: ‘I tell you most solemnly, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees the Father doing: and whatever the Father does the Son does too.
