Gospel
Luke 10:38-42
Martha welcomed him into her house. Mary has chosen the better part.
Jesus entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak. Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me.” The Lord said to her in reply, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.”
Reflection
Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.” How many times have we gone to church with our mind occupied by other things so much so we leave the church empty. This reading reminds us no matter how troubled or occupied we must make time for God to pray and seek his guidance. Do we make time for God?
Let us pray
Lord Jesus occuppied by the matters of the world there are many times we failed to stop to pray and seek your guidance. As a result we get in to more difficulties. Today as we pray give us the concentration to listen and seek your guidance.
Amen
