GLORIFYING GOD

Gospel
Luke 1:46-56
The Mighty One has done great things for me.

Mary said:

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
    my spirit rejoices in God my savior.
    for he has looked upon his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
    the Almighty has done great things for me,
    and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
    in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
    and has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones
    and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
    and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
    for he remembered his promise of mercy,
    the promise he made to our fathers,
    to Abraham and his children for ever.”

Mary remained with Elizabeth about three months and then returned to her home.

Reflection
The almighty has done great things for me and holy is his name. To me this words were proclaimed as a sign of appreciation for the great things he has done. Our mother Mary was glorifying the lord for the great things she had done. Do we glorify God for all the good things he had done? How do we glorify God ?

Let us pray
Lord Jesus many times in our life you have carried us through during the challenging times. Yet many we do not thank you or glorify you during this challenging time. Help us also to remember you are our Lord and God from whom all good things come.

No respect for Christ or John

Gospel Matthew 11:16-19 They heed neither John nor the Son of Man Jesus spoke to the crowds: ‘What description can I find for this generation?
