In Jesus name we will be saved

Gospel
Matthew 10:17-22
For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father.

Jesus said to his disciples: “Beware of men, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues, and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake as a witness before them and the pagans. When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say. For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; children will rise up against parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved.”

Reflection
We will be persecuted because of Jesus name. God will appoint the holy spirit to speak for us. Whoever endures will be saved. How does it effect us. Christ gave us a roadmap to his kingdom in heaven . Firstly be his witness. Secondly stay firm and all trials which we face as become  his witness. What can we do to be his witness?

Let us pray
Lord Jesus you showed us the way to the kingdom of God.  Grant we pray through the power of the holy spirit  we will  be witnesses  in your name forever and ever .

Christ came to proclaim the good news

Gospel Luke 4:16-30 'This text is being fulfilled today, even as you listen' Jesus came to Nazara, where he had been brought up, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day as he usually did. He stood up to read and they handed him the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. Gospel John 5:17-30 The dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and all who hear it will live Jesus said to the Jews, ‘My Father goes on working, and so do I.’ But that only made them even more intent on killing him, because, not content with breaking the sabbath, he spoke of God as his own Father, and so made himself God’s equal.     To this accusation Jesus replied: ‘I tell you most solemnly, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees the Father doing: and whatever the Father does the Son does too.
