Mary the Mother of God

Gospel
Luke 2:16–21
They found Mary and Joseph and the infant. When the eight days were completed, he was named Jesus.

The shepherds went in haste to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known the message that had been told them about this child. All who heard it were amazed by what had been told them by the shepherds. And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them.
When eight days were completed for his circumcision, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

Reflection
On the eighth day of christmas we will always celebrate the role our Mother as the bearer of God our Lord Jesus Christ who is the Prince of Peace. We relieved her journey how she go through the journey of bringing Christ into this world. The joy and the sorrow lumped in one package. More significantly is the Prince of Peace. God want peace in this world through Christ.Today like Mary we have a role to play to bring peace with our way of life .The world is also in turmoil because of pride and Greed. Are we living a life Christ expect of us?

Let us pray
Lord Jesus our mother has shown how to live life with faith in God and with pure humility. She was able to accept God asking with an open heart. Today we wish to live like Mother Mary and yet because of greed and pride often we fail. May the Holy Spirit give us strength to overcome this greed and pride as we continue to journey with you oh Lord.We also pray for peace within us and around the world.

His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph; but before they came to live together she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
