Gospel
John 1:35–42
They saw where he was staying and they stayed with him.
John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God.” The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi”—which translated means Teacher—, “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” So they went and saw where Jesus was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about four in the afternoon. Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus. He first found his own brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah” —which is translated Christ—. Then he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John; you will be called Cephas”—which is translated Peter.
Reflection
Threre are a lot of seekers out there. They could be people with personal problem, lonely or physically sick. Actually these are the people looking for answers. When Christ send the message come and see he is asking people to come to him to experience first hand his love.Today we too have many lost souls . Christ expects his disciples to do the same. However he does not expect mere words but also through action by holding their hand and lead the way to him. However firstly one thing we must do.We must surrender our life to Christ. Have we surrendered ourselves to Christ?
Let us pray
Lord Jesus you have said to those who wish to follow you to come and see what you say and how you act. Today we are expected to do the same .May the Holy Spirit Guide us to live the way you want us to live .
Amen
