Gospel
Matthew 5:17-19
I have not come to abolish the Law and the Prophets but to complete them
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete them. I tell you solemnly, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, shall disappear from the Law until its purpose is achieved. Therefore, the man who infringes even one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be considered the least in the kingdom of heaven; but the man who keeps them and teaches them will be considered great in the kingdom of heaven.’
Reflection
The greatest law in the old testament is the ten commandment. For me if you look at those law it is instructional based. What Christ did when he said he come to complete the law he was actually giving life to the law. What he meant was if you love the lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and you love your neighbour as you love yourself you will not commit sin. Do you love the lord your God?
Let us pray
Lord Jesus the law was made not to make us bitter but to be a better person . However if we were to love God,our neighbour as we love ourselves we will not sin. Help us to love oh Lord.
Amen
