Gospel
John 19:25-27
'Woman, this is your son'
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. Seeing his mother and the disciple he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother, ‘Woman, this is your son.’ Then to the disciple he said, ‘This is your mother.’ And from that moment the disciple made a place for her in his home.
Reflection
Imagine how does a mother feel when a child is punished for a crime she did not commit. Yet Christ gave Mary a bigger responsibility by giving all the disciples as her children and to the disciples a mother. Today that message by Christ is a reminder we must accept Mary as our mother. Do you accept Mary as your mother and ask her to intercede for us?
Let us pray
Lord Jesus as commanded we accept Mary as our mother all the days of our life.
Amen
