The Lord is our Shepherd

Gospel
John 10:27-30
I know my sheep and they follow me

Jesus said:

‘The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice;
I know them and they follow me.
I give them eternal life;
they will never be lost
and no one will ever steal them from me.
The Father who gave them to me is greater than anyone,
and no one can steal from the Father.
The Father and I are one.’

Reflection
What is a shepherd ? A shepherd is one who guards the sheep whether it is one or 1000. He will protect with it's life. Christ is our shepherd .He will protect us even it means giving up his life. Christ did just that. First he gave up his life to free us from sin and the Ressurrection means giving us a new life and salvation.Do you accept Christ as your shepherd?

Let us pray
Lord Jesus, you have the words of eternal life. Open my ears to hear your voice and to follow your ways for we are the sheep and you are our shepherd.

Gospel Mark 6:30-34 They were like sheep without a shepherd The apostles rejoined Jesus and told him all they had done and taught. Then he said to them, ‘You must come away to some lonely place all by yourselves and rest for a while’; for there were so many coming and going that the apostles had no time even to eat.
