Gospel
John 14:1-6
I am the Way, the Truth and the Life
Jesus said to his disciples:
‘Do not let your hearts be troubled.
Trust in God still, and trust in me.
There are many rooms in my Father’s house;
if there were not, I should have told you.
I am going now to prepare a place for you,
and after I have gone and prepared you a place,
I shall return to take you with me;
so that where I am
you may be too.
You know the way to the place where I am going.’
Thomas said, ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?’ Jesus said:
‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.
No one can come to the Father except through me.’
Reflection
In this Gospel, Jesus speaks words of comfort to his disciples, knowing their hearts are troubled by uncertainty and fear about the future. He assures them that he is preparing a place for them in his Father’s house and that they can trust him completely. When Thomas expresses confusion, Jesus responds with a profound declaration: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” These words remind us that Jesus himself is the path to God, the fullness of truth, and the source of real life. Even when we face confusion or anxiety, Jesus invites us to place our active trust in him, knowing that he will never abandon us and that he leads us to lasting peace and hope1710.
Question for Reflection:
When you feel anxious or uncertain about the future, how can you deepen your trust in Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life?
Short Prayer:
Lord Jesus, when my heart is troubled and I cannot see the way ahead, help me to trust in you. Remind me that you are always with me, guiding me, and preparing a place for me. Be my way, my truth, and my life today and always. Amen.
